Off to lunch I go in a candy striped shirt and wax print pencil skirt. Mixing the two prints was easy as I'm dealing with shades of pink. Can't go wrong with pink, right?
I get the feeling my $2 thrifted shirt from the Graceland thrift haul will be worn a lot. It is so soft and broken in. It's very light and airy too. No ironing required. It's pretty darn perfect much like the J. Crew chambray.
I can see myself wearing this as a faux crop top tie front or just untucked with jeans. It's going to look great with layers once the weather starts to turn. Speaking of...when exactly does that happen in Atlanta?
It's so friggin beautiful here with lots of sun and warmth. I'm getting all twitchy and nervous having experienced the trauma of Chicago "hawk". I loathe cold weather and looking forward to a milder fall / winter with little to no snow.
I've pretty much given up on the wax print skirt I sewed two years ago. I washed it even though I know I shouldn't have. I was feeling experimental. Now it's a floppy ever growing piece of fabric that looks like crap if you wear it all day. Plus, the colors are no longer as vibrant. Boo. Wave goodbye. This will be it's last appearance.
I wore this outfit to lunch with the family. I was only a little worried about the food scene. Chicago has amazing food. I may be biased because it's my hometown but the quality and variety I've never found anywhere else. We've been finding some really good spots to eat. I have hope. My new city is looking quite lovely.
