Thrift Store Outfits // Crop Top + Vintage Wrap Skirt

Remember when I bought a $7 crop top at the thrift? I was quite irked about that. It's overpriced for thrift store Rue 21. I'll have to look at my price tags a little more closely next time. I assumed all the tops were in the $3 - $4 range. 

It's a summer wardrobe builder for me. I'm always deficient in the easy on easy off pieces. The print is nice and it will match everything so $7 is not a totally unreasonable price.  But still. I'm not used to paying so much for such a basic piece.

This crop top is definitely a juniors cut. It barely covers my long past juniors chest but it compliments the high waisted skirt perfectly. Plus, it's hot. The less fabric the better.

Last weekend was rather busy.  I went to Austin to visit a friend and do some thrift shopping. Visit me on instagram to see snaps from the trip. I found the skirt in a big clothes pile on an "everything is $6" table at City Wide Garage Sale, a long running monthly local vintage market.

The thrift gods blessed us with an air conditioned location to duck into and escape the sun and high priced yet impeccably curated stores of South Congress.

I didn't have a mirror when I tried the skirt on. In my head, I saw a curve hugging fit. It's not but I love how it accentuates the waist. Skirts with ties are super convenient with their miraculous feats of size change. Big meal? No problem. I just adjust my front ties to accommodate food baby. Shall I mention the humongous pockets on this one? The bigger the pockets the more to love. 

Every time I try to keep the color palette simple, I fail. I snuck in a color injection with beaded Kenyan sandals.
