In all of my years of wandering the thrift store aisles, I've only found four thrift worthy Diane von Furstenberg dresses. The first one was a wrap dress that I scooped off of a new rack coming to the floor. I held onto for a few years then sold it on eBay. The second find was a shirtdress that I wore a couple of times but it never became a "go to" piece. I don't know where it is now. Did I donate it? Is it hidden in the dark end of my closet? I don't know. The third one was a vintage sweater knit that I paid $5 for in a small church thrift store. I sold that one too.
My most recent DVF was found at America's Thrift. I'm keeping it and hopefully I won't misplace it.
DVF is a unicorn in the thrift world. The classic wrap is even harder to find. Because of the timelessness of the wrap, I'm guessing people don't part with them very often.
The iconic wrap suits a wide range of body types. It's the every woman's dress. If it is in a thrift store, the first person to put hands on it is likely going to keep it.
Which I did.
Grabbed the pumps too. Corso Como isn't as sought after but I have boots made by the brand so I know firsthand how absolutely amazing this thrift find is. I bought the boots on sale and at the time they were the most expensive shoes I'd ever bought. Totally worth it though. They're hand assembled and high quality.
These pumps have cushioned soft footbeds and a chunky stacked heels. Stylish and comfortable just like the boots!
It was a great thrift day.
